Bobium Brawlers enters closed beta with on-device AI

Studio Atelico’s mobile creature-battler Bobium Brawlers entered closed beta on Sept. 11, 2026; sign-ups are open to test its on-device generative AI system.

Studio Atelico launched the closed beta for Bobium Brawlers on Sept. 11, 2026, and is accepting sign-ups through its official channels. The game is a mobile creature-battler that uses an on-device generative engine to create combatants for play and testing.

Players create creatures by typing a description of up to 140 characters. According to Studio Atelico, the engine interprets the prompt and assigns a set of predefined attributes to produce a game-ready character. The studio says the system is designed to produce unique results while keeping outputs balanced for competitive play.

Atelico presents the AI as a “pro-artist” approach, noting that generation runs entirely on the player’s device rather than on remote servers. The studio has said this architecture addresses ethics and environmental concerns, but it has not published technical details or energy-use measurements to support those claims.

The closed beta will test how the on-device model handles large numbers of user-generated prompts and whether the studio’s balancing mechanics perform under real player conditions. The company will collect player feedback during the beta period to evaluate the generative system and competitive balance.

Debates about AI in creative tools and games include topics such as credit for creative work, the sources used to train models, and resource consumption. Developers and players have expressed differing views on those issues; some studios have been cautious about disclosing AI use, while others have described their implementations more openly.

Sign-ups for Bobium Brawlers’ closed beta are available now. Players who do not enter the beta can continue to access other mobile releases while testing is underway.
