Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is coming to mobile

Developer Doborog announced Clone Drone in the Danger Zone will arrive on phones and tablets; the studio cites adapting fast, physics-driven combat to touch controls as the main challenge.

Doborog confirmed Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, a voxel-based hack-and-slash in which players control robotic gladiators, is being developed for phones and tablets. The developer highlighted adapting the game’s fast-paced combat to smooth, intuitive touch controls as the principal technical hurdle. No release date, price or regional availability was provided.

In Clone Drone players fight in an arena as robots that rely on melee attacks and a variety of weapons. The game uses voxel models so individual limbs and parts can be severed and propelled by physics during combat, producing dismemberment-focused encounters. Combat also includes larger boss enemies and waves of opponents.

The title includes set-piece segments where players can operate vehicles and creatures, such as spaceships and dinosaurs, to vary the action. Those sequences are part of the studio’s work to translate the full gameplay experience to smaller screens.

Doborog is testing control layouts and input mapping to preserve the speed and responsiveness of the original while keeping the interface usable on touchscreens. The developer has not released details on specific control schemes, customization options, or accessibility features.

No information on performance targets, graphics or physics fidelity on different mobile hardware has been shared. It is also unclear whether the mobile release will support cross-save, cross-buy, or other integration with existing PC or console versions.

Clone Drone first appeared as an independent title on personal computers, where its hit reactions and physics-driven dismemberment drew attention. The mobile edition aims to keep the arena progression, weapon variety and boss encounters of the current version while adjusting input and interface for handheld play.

Doborog said more information on platforms, launch timing and technical requirements will be released closer to the mobile launch. Until then, the developer has not provided further specifics.
