Clone Drone in the Danger Zone Heads to Mobile

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, a voxel hack ‘n’ slash from Doborog, is being ported to mobile; the developer named creating fast, intuitive touch controls as the main challenge.

Doborog is bringing Clone Drone in the Danger Zone to mobile for the first time. The developer identified adapting the game’s fast-paced controls for touchscreens as the main technical challenge of the port.

In Clone Drone players control a robotic gladiator forced to fight in an arena. Combat uses melee weapons against waves of enemies and large bosses. The game’s voxel art supports dismemberment and physics-driven reactions: individual limbs can be sliced off, enemies can catch fire, and parts fly away during combat.

The developer said adapting those mechanics to touch input required rethinking controls so players can react quickly and precisely on mobile devices. The team plans to preserve the original game’s pacing and responsiveness while creating an intuitive control scheme for tapping and swiping.

Beyond standard arena fights, the game contains segments where players pilot a spaceship or control a dinosaur, each with different movement and combat rules. Doborog noted these sequences will also be adapted for touch input, though the studio has not provided technical details for those segments.

Doborog confirmed the mobile port is in development but did not announce a release date or list of supported devices. The developer advises interested players to follow its official channels for updates on release windows and platform availability.

Clone Drone began as an independent title on other platforms and gained a following for its combination of simple combat and emergent moments driven by voxel visuals and physics. The mobile version represents an effort to bring the game’s arena combat and unique visual effects to touchscreen players.
