Mobile Legends 2.2.08 Brings Popol Revamp to Advanced Server

Patch 2.2.08 on Mobile Legends’ Advanced Server revamps marksman Popol and Kupa-allowing Popol to mount Kupa-and adds hero, battlefield, system and mode tests for player feedback.

Moonton has deployed Patch 2.2.08 to Mobile Legends‘ Advanced Server. The update revamps marksman Popol and his companion Kupa, and introduces a range of hero balance changes, battlefield effects and system and mode adjustments for player testing and feedback.

The Popol and Kupa revamp adjusts the companion system and Popol’s kit to improve mobility, survivability and trap utility. Kupa now scales with Popol’s level, inherits Popol’s attributes and item effects, and regenerates health out of combat. If Kupa is defeated, Popol can revive him. When both attack the same target they gain attack and movement speed, and Kupa deals extra damage to creeps.

Popol’s abilities were reworked. Skill 1 throws a spear and commands Kupa to lunge and slow the target, with an Alpha Wolf Form variant that knocks enemies airborne. Skill 2 calls Kupa back, clears crowd control on the companion, grants Popol a shield and allows Popol to mount Kupa for rapid movement while Kupa heals. Skill 3 places traps that immobilize and reduce enemies’ Physical Defense; players can deploy up to four active traps. The ultimate places both into an Enraged state for nine seconds, fully heals Kupa and transforms him into Alpha Wolf Form with extra Max HP and enhanced effects.

Patch 2.2.08 also adjusts multiple heroes. Bruno’s early-to-mid game damage on Skill 1 was increased. Cici’s Skill 1 now scales slightly better against high-HP targets and clears the EXP Crab faster. Hayabusa had Skill 1 and ultimate damage reduced to emphasize combo play rather than single-shot ultimates. Kalea’s ultimate damage bonus rose from 6% to 8% of Max HP. Karrie’s ultimate base damage per lightwheel and movement speed during the ultimate were raised while Skill 1’s physical-attack ratios were lowered. Lukas saw small reductions to HP growth and base physical defense and an extended Skill 1 indicator to match range. Masha’s base HP, HP growth, passive scaling, Skill 1 lane-clear and ultimate damage source were modified to favor sustained fighting over all-in burst. Obsidia’s passive attack speed growth and ultimate shield values were reduced. Sun’s earlier reductions were partially reverted: his passive grants more damage to creeps, his doppelganger deals and survives more damage, and ultimate doppelganger damage was increased. The patch also updates Minsitthar’s Skill 1 description and fixes an abnormal damage issue with Nana’s Skill 2.

The update restores and tests new battlefield effects. A Nowhere to Hide mechanic adds pickable Vision Wisps that circle a hero, reveal hidden enemies within a large range, move to reveal revealed positions and now deal one true damage when revealing enemies; some spawn points were moved away from risky locations. Defeating the Turtle no longer grants a shield; instead an allied Turtle spawns on the enemy’s strongest lane to assist pushes and heal nearby allied heroes, with adjustments to its HP and turret durability. Turret gold distribution was rebalanced so turret destruction grants more team gold overall; Inner and Base Turret HP were increased, while team gold from Outer Turrets was reduced and Base Turret gold was raised.

System and mode tests include a new Team-Up feature in the Team Lobby that lists compatible teams and lets players make rank-up or casual lobbies public. Card Brawl received card adjustments, several new cards and shorter respawn timers to speed match pacing. Survival Mode was revamped with boss and Annihilation Tide respawn changes, reduced monster damage, adjusted item drop rates and bug fixes addressing match result displays and premature settlements.

The patch is active on the Advanced Server for testing. Player feedback collected there will inform further refinements before any wider release.
